F&DRC Stelling Minnis Summer TREC Review

Well, Sally King, Chrissy Sutton and I were at it again!!
Sheenagh and Wayne Gifford and Family, very kindly agreed to allow us access to Knowler Farm, even though they have many other commitments and activities to cater for.

I set off to plan the POR route, when I hit a wall early on. The Forestry England application was rather frustrating. With long delays and being diverted to Cornwall division! The fees asked were not viable for our event and so I moved on to planning other options. I hope the variety of tracks and paths were suitable for the Competitor levels and were challenging enough but still attainable. Jenny Snowdon and Katie Holmes kindly set up and ran the Map Room. An important part of any competition including a POR.

Sally and Chrissy covered so much admin and preparation for this event, including advertising and taking entries. They also planned an excellent PTV, set along a looping track, in a field. The obstacles were well constructed and some decorated, to add a bit of variety. A big Thank You to Tina Cobourn for providing tons of equipment, from SETREC, to build obstacles and helping to set up the course.

Emma Fayers and Lindsey Boots created a unique MA, using the Cancer Research UK Bow logo, as a template, over a set distance of 100mtrs. The first MA track that crosses paths, that I have heard of!

My lovely Husband, Steve Reith, supported me with all things computer related and placed the Scores onto the TRECGB system. There were so many family members, friends and people connected to Faversham & District Riding Club and SETREC, who supported this event. Setting up, judging, clearing away.

Thankyou to the Competitors who supported our event. We hope you enjoyed it! And finally, our intrepid TRECGB Technical Delegate, Karen Ransley. Who is always there to guide us, give knowledgeable information and provide calm, good, humoured advice. Thankyou!
Sarah Reith.
