Tracer Training

TREC GB is running Day One, Tracer Day of a TD training course at Blackheath, Surrey on Sunday 9th November 2025.

You must be a Red, Blue or Supporter member of TREC GB to attend and the fee should be paid to TREC GB on booking. Any SETG member who is aiming to act as tracer on behalf of SETG for POR only, 10/10 or full summer TREC is eligible for reimbursement for this training. Additionally, any SETG member who is a qualified judge and would like to train as a Technical Delegate is eligible for SETG funding to cover the training costs.

This course is open to all members who wish to act as a tracer as well as qualified judges who want to train as TDs, or as a TD refresher  and forms the first part of the two day TD course. The cost of the course is £25 for the Tracer day (FOC for those attending as a TD refresher).

The course aims to help tracers understand the differences between each level in TREC, what is required to set a good POR, what challenges should be provided for riders at each level and to try to ensure uniformity of technical difficulty to all levels of competition across the UK.
Format of the day:

  • Registration and coffee from 9.30am, to start at 10am.
  • Breaks during the day for tea/coffee and a lunch break.
  • Course to finish at around 4pm.

It will be classroom based with some practical outside work. Please bring whatever you usually use to draw maps, set grids and bearings, plus a packed lunch. Tea/coffee, biscuits etc will be provided.  If you wish to attend the Tracer Day at Blackheath, please fill in the form [via the button below] and arrange payment no later than Sunday 2nd November.
